Wellbeing in Grief…
Grief is not only the response we experience when someone dies. Grief is the normal and natural response to any significant loss, our pet, our job, our community in times of natural disaster, our hopes, our goals and our dreams.
Dr Lucy Hone calls these BFT’s (bloody f*****g things) and I call it “when s**t happens”. You will no doubt have your own way of describing those bumps, and caverns, that we experience along the road of life…
There are ways of thinking, acting and being that can help you in this journey.
My role is to support you in identifying and developing your own unique set of tools and strategies, as well as exploring how and when you might use them to your optimal advantage so that you are able to look after your own wellbeing as well as support those you love and care for during challenging times.
Mental health & wellbeing in times of change, loss and grief is drawn from a variety of research and models in grief and bereavement, most notably Dr Lucy Hone’s work in Resilient Grieving.
“it is possible to live and grieve at the same time. It’s not easy, it’s not pretty, it’s not what we wanted... but it is possible”
